People stereotype blacks as violent criminals because

of the disproportionate number of blacks who commit crimes. They are also stereotyped as lazy because of the disproportionate number of blacks living on welfare instead of working.
And they resent those stereotypes, as they should.
However, it seems no different than the way THEY stereotype all police officers based on the actions of a few (and often times those actions are justified).
It just seems very hypocritical that they don't want to be stereotyped and they condemn it as ignorant or intolerant, yet they do the same thing.
