the best candidates for promotion are generally the ones that keep their head down and do their work well, and letting their work speak for itself rather than spending their time *campaining* for a promotion.

In my work experience, the people that talk the most about trying to get promoted are usually at the bottom of the list of people that actually deserve a promotion
