I have done it long ago. It was a useful excercise.

I am a heavy Excel user at work now, so I am glad I did it. Learning Access is a good excercise too.

Eventually I said screw it, put what we could (should) spend each month plus savings in one bank acoount.

Had the rest deposited in a second account that was a huge pain to get too.

It worked.
