And the purpose of stop & frisk is to make it safe for officers to interact with people. It's done for officer safety, but if a person is found to have a weapon and no permit, or they have a prior criminal record which prevents them from being in possession of a deadly weapon, then it can lead to getting a person/weapon off the streets.
