While the uptick for Donnie was weirdly disconcerting, this ain't my first rodeo. My initial impulses are sound. Debates may be telling. Gore sure as sht shot himself in the foot in one debate that hurt him. Clinton has to be VERY careful not to come off as a school marm.
Key debate moments I recall that may or may not have impacted eventual outcomes - though they seemed important at the time:
Gore standing next to W and sighing
"I paid for this microphone" - Ronnie
"There you go again" Ronnie
HW checking his watch.
"I feel your pain" - Bubba
Dukakis in the Snoopy helmet - not in the campaign, but it killed his chances.
