And we dicussed the latest effort to hire more minority faculty.....damn, like prominent researchers and published experts in their fields are just growing on trees. We've seen how many years of affirmative action? If I was a highly qualified person of color would I rather be highly recruited to work in a well-paying private sector job? Or would I rather work in a University environment struggling for funding and with mediocre benefits?
I guess we could go the route of UNC-Chapel Hill and pump up the quotas with African American Studies programs open to only athletes and with minimal class time. How's that working for them?
