spring and you aren't a top 25 recruit who has his choice of schools you are generally an academic concern, a byproduct of a coaching change, or a player who was hoping that waiting would allow you to get a P5 offer. There are exceptions to the rule but generally players available after the season aren't signed somewhere for a reason.
