It would be an ad hominem if my conversation with GAT looked like this:

GAT: Allowing 60,000 muslims into the country is a bad idea.

Ummmm: You're a xenophobe, so you're wrong.

That is an ad hominem.


Our conversation below is much simpler than the above example. Instead of discussing the benefits or detriments of immigration, I was simply pointing out an example of GAT's xenophobia. I didn't do it to discredit any argument of his.
