Citizen Kane -- the film masterpiece of Orson Welles in which he wrote, directed, and starred in at just 25 years of age.
While never naming William Randolph Hearst in the movie, it was clear to everyone that Charles Foster Kane was depicting the real life Hearst.
In outrage Hearst made it illegal to write reviews about Citizen Kane in any of the newspapers and media outlets in has vast empire.
He had RKO studio's, who produced Citizen Kane, neutered and effectively destroyed.
Citizen Kane wouldn't materialize as a great film until many years later thanks to the censorship and negative brainwashing by the Hearst media machine.
