Yes, I think it does. There was a big difference between George Bush (both of them) and Bill Clinton and Obama with respect to the social issues like abortion, gay marriage, the new transvestite/transgender LGBTQQ whatever special protected classes and so on.
Hopefully there would still be a great difference between the Supreme Court justices that will be appointed... and the ramifications from those appointments will reverberate for decades.
But barring some sort of divine intervention I foresee our country to continue spiraling down the toilet.
