Stewart also filled his void at big guard with junior college defensive specialist Marvin "Moon" McCrary and will supplement his backcourt with freshmen Ron Jones, the leading prep scorer in the state of Missouri last winter, and Shawn Teague, "who resembles Larry Drew," according to Stewart.

The Tigers have also been plagued with backcourt problems -- specifically trying to replace All-Big Eight point guard Larry Drew, who was a first round NBA draft pick last spring.

Coach Norm Stewart tried junior college transfer Moon McCrary and then freshman Shawn Teague before moving Jon Sundvold over from the shooting guard spot. But in so doing, Stewart had to move Ricky Frazier, perhaps the best pure jumper in the conference, from his forward spot into the backcourt.

Sean Teage, who played in all 32 games of MU's basketball games last season, has left the team. The 6'1 freshman started 20 games for the Tigers and avged 3.5 ppg. Norm Stewart said the Tigers have 2 JUCO transfers who can play Teague's position.

Prince Bridges was one of those JUCO's being referenced, and he ended up being a very good player at MU in his own right.
