I'm too lazy to look but I'd wager that in years that we make the NCAA tourney the key/star players are probably almost always top 150 recruits. Bowers and Lawrence level recruits seem to be the outliers and top 150 players like English, Denmon, Dixon, Pressey, Brown, Carroll, and Lyons are more likely to bring us to a tourney than unranked recruits. You don't have to get top 50 recruits to make the tourney. But 150+ ranked recruits isn't a recipe for success and VERY few P5 teams make the tourney consistently while recruiting at Kim's level and they usually have hall of fame coaches coaching those lower-rated recruits.
