in 2014 the OU offense put up 37 against TCU, 30 against KSU, 35 against OSU. All were losses. He was not the problem in those losses the D was.
The offense scored 40 or more in 6 out of 13 games. 30 or more in 11 out of 13 games.
That year against Baylor and against Clemson the offense played terrible. Baylor finished that year in the top 10 and Clemson around 15 in every poll.
His offense was not the problem. He was the scape goat (Escape Goat).
Yes it is quite simplistic narrative, but it is also the truth.
