yard. Seems like a DIY project to me.

Wait until the end of Sept after it's rained some, short mow your yard with a bagger, aeriate, rake up the plugs, toss in some seed and in all honesty i bet that will be enough.

Spreading sand all over would be a huge pain and probably pretty expensive.
