It's easy for Obama to get 50%. No matter what , he gets 95% of the black vote, so that's an easy 13% based on the black percentage of population.

Obama then only needs 37% of everyone else.

Everyone else O's approval rate is : 37/87 , for 42.5%.

In other words, if obama was white, we'd be talking about his historical bad ratings instead.
