we used IBM ATMs from the 1960s, (this was early 90s). By the time I supported them, no new parts were being manufactured, they would just take the old parts and fix them for reuse.

Finally started upgrading to new units in the mid-90s. Those old ones were basically held together with bailing wire and duct tape. I got pretty good at getting them working again so we didn't have to call Diebold in for service, which would add hours to a call. Those guys hated them too.
