I don't harass people, I don't call you after a discussion unless you tell me to (some people will say they want to make a purchase next month, and call me on a certain date)
We tend to have a lot of loyal customers that have been with us for 20+ years, and we get a LOT of referrals because we aren't high pressure. We don't deceive people. Some agents will leave a voice mail saying "call me, I have some urgent info to talk to you about" and it ends up just being a sales call. I think that is disengenuous and that's not how you build long-term relationships. I'm going to be doing this for 25-30 more years, I'm here to build long-term relationships, not make a quick buck today at the expense of future possibilities.
You know, my income might increase 10%, or 20% if I pushed harder, and that's not an amount to sneeze at. Most people would KILL to get a double-digit % raise in a given year. But it's not worth the stress to me. I don't like to be put in those situations, and I don't want to put other people in those situations.
I've given personal insurance quotes to a LOT of people here on Tigerboard over the years. Some went with me, some didn't, but I would hope that all of them would say that I was friendly to deal with and I didn't pester them at all.
