I thought this was a well-researched article.
In 2010, the Big 12 made history by having the first 4 NFL draft picks, 5 of the first 6, and 9 of the top 21.
In the last 2 years, The Big 12 had the fewest average draftees, 6, in the first two rounds. By far the worst of Power 5 conferences. That tied them with the AAC and Mountain West. In comparison, the SEC had 34 draftees on average.
Flash forward to today, there has been a huge drain of talent recruited out of Big 12 territory and away from the conference. And the biggest part of this story is it's not because of A&M.

The article was written right before NSD this year. Indeed, Oklahoma didn't make the recruiting top 10 list again, finishing #19, according to 247.
