get here. Unless that life could live longer than us or had much superior transportation methods, it would take a breading population on the space ship. There could have been life more sophisticated than anything on Earth that developed and went extinct on a planet going around a star that has already burned out. The universe is roughly 14 billion years old. The Sun and Earth is only about 4.5 billion years old.
