North's enemy.

After 1987 Abud Nidal got killed by Saddam Hussein (sometime in the early 90s) for refusing to train Al Qaeda fighters in Iraq and Osama Bin Laden left the Mujahadeen fighting for Afghanistan against the Soviet Union and joined Al Qaeda changing from a Muslim "good guy" (which he was during Reagan-North) on our side against the commies to a Muslim bad guy.

North wasn't concerned with Bin Laden because he and Reagan considered Bin Laden part of the good guys (the Mujahadeen) in that region because their enemy (the Soviet infidels) were also our enemy.

Things are complicated.
