Jackson and Hughes clearly had good games. With Hughes, its great to see someone shoot like that from 3 point range in competition - obviously the ability is there. With Jackson, the line certainly looks good but an inside player can dominate against iffy competition via sheer athletic ability so I am not going to pin as much on that. Van Leer shot poorer than you want a 3-point shooter to shoot (0.33) so I would not necessarily call that taking care of business. All in all, it looks like a good effort with some of the new guys looking pretty good (not so much Geist though) and a nice game on the boards (maybe the most important take away). But the critical question mark here is the quality of the opponent which we really do not know. I've seen us blow away opponents in exhibition only to watch the same players struggle against decent NCAA competition.
