today, interviews with both Dave Matter and Blake Toppmeyer.
Matters article is online. Regarding EE, Matter says that EE was scheduled to meet with administration this week to discuss his status, but those meetings have been pushed back to next week now. So nothing will be announced until next week and it appears no decision has been made to retain him or fire him.
I'm still wondering if some of the statements a few days ago from players and others about him being back next season were based solely on the news of no Title IX violations. Certainly that determination was a huge plus in EEs favor. But they could still fire him, nonetheless.
Reesman says resolving his status is on a list of things to resolve soon, she wants to be respectful of everyone involved, blah blah blah. Says it will be a decision she and others in the athletic department make in conjunction with interim chancellor Foley. Should note that she was apparently out of the country the last 2 weeks, so hopefully the delay is in part waiting for her to get back and catch up on everything. I was hoping we would hear something this week after assistant AD Hickman said Monday that he thought a resolution on EEs status would be 'in a few days'.
Another interesting thing is Matter noted that Mack and Wren Baker are still hanging around the AD offices. Mack? Really? WTF for. Matter asks if it is for transition purposes and Reesman replies:
" It is a transition phase. They’re doing all they can to make sure people are informed about things they were involved with. They’re tying up things and helping prepare and organize."
Hope Mack isn't "informing" people about how much EE deserves to be fired, because that was clearly his agenda.
