What he has done and continue to do is damage the party that will continue to be felt for possibly the next generation.
As a Wisconsin Conservative Commentator put it during the primaries, "Donald Trump is everything bad that people say and try to link the GOP as being, that is not who we are".
As the party standard bearer as the presidential nominee, he has boiler plated all those things as being GOP.
A Pincer movement to choke the GOP.
In 1964, the party standard bearer, Barry Goldwater rejected Civil Rights Act. Many GOP were for it, but it didn't matter, the std bearer was against. Blacks voted GOP @ 20%. That shriveled to @ 4%, never to regain.
Trump will move every ethnic group away from the old white man party.
In 1994, California GOP, passed Prop 187, and followed an anti-immigrant agenda. Long run, it back fired. CA GOP, 20yrs later is a small minority party.
