"We're overjoyed that no violations have occurred.
We are aggressively seeking a new permanent AD and we expect that person to address this situation as a first order of business.
I've instructed Sarah Reesman, our interim AD to refrain from any further actions regarding the softball program except those that would be considered 'business as usual'.
Please understand we've had two investigations, one initiated by the AD's office and one by our Title IX compliance group. Neither have resulted in a suspension or even a recommended course correction of any kind.
That does not mean corrective action is not merited. Coach Earleywine has taken some corrective action on his own initiative and I certainly appreciate that - whether or not it's enough, neither I nor Sarah can say - we want the new AD to have full leeway on this. We believe an excellent working relationship between the AD and all of our coaches is a vital component of the way forward.
But don't read too much into that - we fully expect the new AD will get off on sound footing with Ehren and vice/versa. That's what we want and getting the AD hired is the first step in making that happen, and not just for the softball program, but for all of the excellent programs here at the University.
