in oklahoma, the two schools have separate regents, like aTm and ut. so, i don't see the separation issues there that may exist in kansas, where they share a board.

but even in kansas, rational heads would make a logical argument that each school should stand on its own merits. i don't believe, in the end, that the legislature or governor would keep either from joining a league at the expense of the other.
