We've got so much natural gas in this country

it's amazing that we haven't really hit that at all. I'm sure it has to do with environmental concerns versus a lot of the other options, but it's almost a completely wasted resource we've got in this country.

There are farms all over the midwest with capped natural gas wells getting paid hundreds/thousands a month by companies like Booz Allen. Why hasn't natural gas taken off for things like transportation and instead been put on the back burner for electric? Same question exists for energy. It releases almost half as much pollutants as petroleum or coal.
