had responded to a call about domestic violence in progress.
Yeah, his wife has a black eye and a bloody lip, but this is just a vendetta from that neighbor across the street mad because he had called the police on them for their barking dog.
I guess it is a universal phenomenon that people caught in the act of underhanded activities desperately want to divert attention from their nefarious activities... and alleging there's a conspiracy against them is maybe the best they can come up with under the circumstances, and grasping at straws is sometimes the only option available to them.
