to makes sure (I've been weighing the beans while I've been tweaking the recipe, and b/c I'm an insufferable hipster).
18 grams beans (I think that's 1.5 scoops, I'll confirm later) grind it close to espresso fine, there should be some significant resistance when you press it
Water is the same as they recommend, around 180.
Fill up the "2" marker and stir with the paddle for 10 seconds.
Fill up to almost full (I go between the "4" marker and the top).
Wait 30 seconds, then press over 30-60 seconds.
I read numerous websites with pictures of "coffee artisans" wearing overalls with t-shirts and other annoying accessories to try to get to a usable recipe; all the while converting degrees from Celsius and whatnot. I did this so I could share my findings with the shack....you're welcome?
