Tate was not brought in specifically to land those four.
Tatum was never coming here. Neither was Tilmon. Cook and Sneed were possibilities, but our coaches liked Jackson better than Sneed. So we're left with Cook. Tate was not added to the staff for Cook.
It also ignores the fact that we landed Barnett as a transfer no doubt in part because of Tate.
Tate, in fact, was brought in to do what the last paragraph acknowledges he's done. He's here to help repair relationships that pay off in the future, not for an immediate return, and both Watson and Thatch, players who already do or will have several P5 offers, are giving Mizzou serious consideration.
None of that matters if we don't win.
