Missouri doesn't produce enough to rely only on Missouri recruiting.
There are enough elite recruits that if Mizzou lands them along with a few non Missouri role players that Mizzou could have been final four contenders.

Really though basketball recruiting is a national thing, except for mid major a nd below schools. So locking down the borders isn't as important.
