FLATBUSH, Brooklyn — A massive manhunt is underway after two officers on patrol were shot at by a person inside a car in Brooklyn.

The shooting happened around 10:45 p.m. on Ditmas Ave. and E 23rd Street within the confines of the 70th Precinct in Flatbush.

The NYPD said two officers in uniform were walking their post when a dark colored sedan with tinted windows slowly approached them and made a statement about “getting them” before firing away at the cops.

The vehicle occupied by four men, described as black, fled the scene, police said.

Both of the officers were not hurt.

Police sources said the suspects were seen earlier in the day and flashing gang signs at officers but later returned.

A few New York City bridges, including Verrazano-Narrows, Brooklyn and Manhattan were temporarily closed in search of the gunman.

Sergeants Benevolent Association President Ed Mullins cautioned officers about the incident in a statement on the SBA Facebook page.

“Please remain alert at all times,” Mullins said. “Your safety and the safety of your officers is paramount.”
