traditional republicans Are originally from the northeast and scattered throughout the rest of the country ( a lot in the west)who believe in small government and individual freedoms. The original republicans usually believed in fair and open trade. They realized that free trade promoted economic growth which resulted in more money. Original Republicans were not for the GI Bill or Social Security, unemployment benefits or pro labor unions Like I said earlier when the southerners joined the party it started the fiasco for man y reasons
