but I'm not sure of the exact LTE channels of both.

I would assume the 6P on Google Fi is set up to run off of whichever network it's getting a stronger/faster signal from at any time. Maybe Tmobile's network is just that much better than Sprint, even in KC. The 6P was faster on every speed test that I did everywhere (my home in LS, in North KC, and around the plaza are the 3 places I was at this weekend, 6P was faster at all 3)
