Considerably more successful?
At MU, Vanatta had a .314 winning percentage compared to KA's .302. That means if KA had won one more game in his MU tenure, which wouldn't change how it's gone one iota, he would have a better winning percentage than Vanatta. That doesn't qualify as considerably more successful.
Nor does Vanatta's career winning percentage of .625 compared to KA's of .680. In fact, someone could say that .625 is worse than .680 not "considerably more successful."
The truth is both had national championship level success at a lower level (Vanatta at NAIA, KA at Division II) and both had/have terrible records at Mizzou.
