Where's the bromance?

The VP announcement was a mess. Loved the part where Trump looked down at his notes to get Pence's name right at introduction.
In the past for either party, the announcement is a major event. Last year, Romney announced and introduced Ryan in the purple state of Virginia, and proceeded to campaign there. This included the Romney and Ryan families getting together.
Pence is clearly in the backseat. He's barely been able to show what he's got.
Trump is clearly doing this to mend fences with conservatives, but hasn't shown to embrace it.
Can hardly wait for the campaigning. I'll bet they spend most if not all campaigning separately.
