They interviewed the Executive Director of the Liberty Bowl (this is on video). He said they wanted Arkansas, obviously because this would be like a home game for them being right next door in Memphis, and a lot of Arkansas fans would be there. Said they also wanted Kansas because this was their first bowl game in like 15 years and knew they would bring a lot of people.
