is par-boiled and then drained and dried the texture when layered with the other ingredients tastes very much like a "fried rice" dish from a Chinese restaurant.
I never said the rice was fried only that the dish was similar to a fried rice dish from a Chinese restaurant.
I like it with lamb and the medium spice level at my local place is pretty spicy.
