Mizzou is a horrible fit for the SEC in sports (MU simply doesn’t care as much), fine in academic standing. Football will rejoice at 7 win seasons, baseball is 16 out of 16, leaving hoops as the best chance to ever become anything resembling an elite men’s SEC sport. Probably not a lot different in B10 but I think football and baseball have better chances.
I think the B10 was the best fit (which is what everyone wanted for decades) and provides way more schools that are similar to MU in sports, recruiting grounds and meh fan interest (think MN, IL, Indiana, Purdue, Rutgers, Maryland). MU would be one of the worst academic schools in that league but maybe it would spur MU to gets its academic poop in a scoop. B10 will pay out more money at the end of the day too. More road trips that fans could easily drive to also.
Frankly, fan interest and aspirations fit best in whatever the B12 and PAC come to be. Probably MU’s best league to actually win conference championships.
