move hoping that it would force the other PAC elites to join them (mainly, Cal, Stanford, Oregon, Washington).

I've seen some Oregon and Cal fans (and I'm sure others) saying they should call USC and UCLA's bluff by staying with the Pac-10 (10 members)... hoping it forces USC and UCLA to come crawling back.

Even if the other PAC schools join them, I could see all parties involved regretting the decision 5 to 10 years down the road.
