They are both control freaks who demand near perfection and extreme work ethic. The reason assistants stay a little longer at Alabama is they Win. It’s much easier to tolerate a difficult boss when you are paid well and you win. If they win at Alabama as an assistant it puts them in to a different job category. Give Drink time. If he wins, the assistants will stay longer and tolerant his high expectations.
