If the player thought they have what it takes to excel at Missouri, they wouldn't enter the portal. Most of these portal kids move way down the program ranks to a G5 type program.
Non-graduate transfers are usually dealing with eligibility issues (flunking out). It's pretty rare to ever hear of a guy having to sit out for a time for grades - they just transfer.
