She had a great game last night...

Good for her, and good for the team, as we struggled mightily to defeat a Sun Belt team, on our home floor, pulling away from a narrow 61-60 lead with 4 minutes to go by going 12-16 from the free throw line (and 0-4 from the field) over those last 4 minutes. Closing out close games down the stretch has been a problem recently, so that was a good sign. I’d like to see that continue against tougher competition. Troy is the best team we have played so far this year against an anemic schedule, but they aren’t remotely close to being a top 25 team.

Although before the game I didn’t see anyone here predicting she would have a breakout game and score 20 on 7-13 shooting. I didn’t see anyone here betting the house or their first born child that she would do that. Hindsight creates a lot of geniuses.

The fact is, going into last nights game there was no reason to think she would do that, so the skepticism I and others had about her offense was well founded. Because over a sustained period of time, stretching back over 10 quarters in 2 and 1/2 games, she had gone 0-12 from the field. That’s a fact.
