Pinkel showed up with Smith (who committed to him at Toledo and was ok to play there) and that's what built the initial success, yes, and then Pinkel needed to be saved after going to the brink with the '04 season, the O'Neal tragedy, and frankly, his plan not doing well in 2005.

So yeah, if you change the basis of the question, you get a different answer.

And the initial comment about folks forgetting (note the plural) wasn't aimed at you; if it were, it would have been a different pronoun. This whole thread is about how so many here either forget or never knew how rough Pinkel's tenure was at times, not how "TigerDeep" could present himself on a message board.
