part of our programs lack of success of late is guys like Mitchell Smith and Parker Braun who were entirely incapable of contributing offensively and guys like Tilmon and Kobe Brown who won't realize their potential because of how much time they spend practicing shots they should never be taking.
Its one thing to have to coach bad shot selection out of a player, but its entirely another to coach players to take low quality shots. Particularly when it seems to come at the expense (cue the 'they can work on both') of developing skills that would actually be useful and productive. If we have such a lack of offensive talent that the best shot we can generate in a possession is a Keita face up jumper from beyond 18 feet then we have some serious and fundamental problems well beyond whether he makes or misses the shot.
