was by all measures a competitive and nationally relevant program, i don't think anyone would argue that MU was a top spending program who was consistently achieving results based solely on financial investment. that has never been the case in MU's entire history. the line of thinking that claims exorbitant spending is the ONLY way for the program to perform up to what has historically been the norm is incredibly naive and simplistic. yet i have no doubt the posts that follow this will argue that exact illogical position.
