our worst, not our best. and certainly not some unattainable fairy tale of success that can never be reached again, as some on here will no doubt be quick to throw out.
our expectation should be to finish in the top half of the conference pretty much year in and year out, and top 4 more often than not. an occasional finish in the bottom half could be accepted as a temporary outlier, a fluke brought on by injuries or other external factors. but certainly not the norm. and there's absolutely no scenario that justifies us continuously finishing below programs like mississippi state, south carolina, texas a&m, ole miss, etc.
overall we've become a program that looks a lot more like vanderbilt than we'd like to admit.
