Big schools miss guys all the time and they are coming after those same guys in the portal. Clearly they missed on Wendell Green Jr, Cam Martin. And they missed on CJ McCollum, future unanimous league MVP Steph Curry even though his dad was in the league and they lived near Duke and North Carolina. Dame Lillard of Weber State. Ja Morant of Murray State. Kawhi Leonard of San Diego State. Pascal Siakam of New Mexico State. There’s a guy from Truman State in the NBA. The scouts and coaches miss literally all the time if the kid isn’t too 100-150. We are talking NBA All Stars that ended up at mid majors. And in a class where AAU was cancelled in 2020 there are going to be a LOT more misses. This kid was fortunate enough to find a situation to reclassify.
