Softball Roster Thoughts

There have been lots of posts in the last few months that allude to our large roster of 31. We all seem to believe that's too many. But it's interesting now that because of injuries our productive bench is actually thin.
Last I heard there were seven Tigers unavailable to due injury. Deters, Heckenkamp, McGivern, Decker, Nicholson, Phillips and Rollin who is now in the Transfer Portal. Perhaps Eloise can verify that list.
So of the 31 woman roster, Five are pitchers and seven position players are injured. That leave 19. You can't expect to see Vargas or Kadlac or Burks or Mortimer in a helpful role off the bench. Subtract those four and you have nine position starters and a productive bench of only six. THIN.
In our last game the six bench players were Frizell, Honnold, Myint, Cook, Moll and Warick. THIN.
