some degree of parity. Those rules aren't always followed, but having them in place (along with possible consequences for breaking them) is good for the game.

Abolishing those rules and allowing bribes out in the open would be extremely bad for the game.

It's not complicated.

No one is forced to compete in NCAA sports. If an athlete wants to go pro, they can pursue options outside of the NCAA. It's been that way for the better part of a century.
