After attracting the attention of Missouri, Arkansas, Kansas State, Nebraska, Memphis and Oklahoma among others, Lue did not score well enough on his ACT to qualify under Prop 48.
Suddenly all but Nebraska lost interest. It was nothing personal, but some of the schools, such as Missouri, were not allowed to take Prop 48s and others were not willing to spend a scholarship on a player who would sit out a year.
Nebraska, which can accept non-qualifiers, kept recruiting Lue.
``We would have really liked to have him, but there was a position where Nebraska was able to offer him a scholarship when we couldn't,'' Norm Stewart said.
